It’s a really worthy experience, needs some leg strength and some good physical condition as there is a lot of walking and the altitude doesn’t really help the breathing problems. There are alternatives to do the same with a vanVerificataKushal-TripAdviso2024-01-07Don’t miss this amazing hiking experience of Mount Etna We did the Mount Etna hike to almost 3,000 meter (the highest that is allowed) with Ashara Guides on 05 January 2024 and it was honestly one of the most rewarding experiences. Our hike was commanded by Massimo (aka Max) who was such a pleasant, cheerful and wonderful human who made our hike very interesting. Right from the start, he made sure everyone gets the right gear for the hike, including shoes, jackets and helmets. The hiking experience was exciting and Max made sure we stopped at important steps where he patiently explained to us all of the history of Etna and its craters and volcanic activity of the past many years. Max explained to us and showed us various different rock formations, mineral compositions and lava fields all along the Trek. Max made sure everyone was safe in the group and also took some hikers from the other group we met on the hike (because the other group leader had to return to the base to help a hiker who was experiencing altitude sickness). The hike duration was 5 hours and in Max’s company, it really became super exciting. Thank you Ashara guides and thank you Max for this incredible experience. Also special thanks to Mary who kept us well informed of the timings before the hike with proper communication. A complete 5 star rating to Ashara tour guides.VerificataLeo R2024-01-06The best way to go up Etna Massimo and Fabio are amazing; you can see the passion these guys have for what they do and their deep connection with the volcano. They love the Etna, and they could pass this feeling to us. It was a beautiful day that will carry on our minds forever. Thank you, guys. You put our trip to Sicily on another level. Grazie!VerificataDunia C2023-11-19Etna 3000mt col sorriso Scenario mozzafiato, guida simpatica, disponibile e preparatissima! Tempo per scattare foto e riposarsi! One should be lucky to see fresh lava so don't be mislead by the pictures. Still, the views are quite impressive and you'll get pretty close to the active craters to see them in motion throing stones and steam. Up the mountain it is quite windy, be prepared. The company provided trekking shoes, these are a mist for the hike. The guide was knowledgeable and attentive to all participants.VerificataJason M2023-10-24Fantastic tour with Mauro Fantastic tour provided by Mauro Piccione. He was enthusiastic and informative. We climbed from 2500m to just under 3000m. This took two hours and was uphill almost the entire way. Mauro made sure we had adequate test stops and we had lunch at the top. If you are not a hiker or aren't reasonably fit, this will be a hard walk. The terrain is rocky and loose. I am not especially for nor am I a hiker so I found it hard, make sure you have a proper breakfast beforehand (which I foolishly did not). It was definitely worth the hard work. The views are incredible and you get to eat lunch while Etna puffs away in from of you. We even saw several small rocky eruptions! On the way down Mauro took us to see other areas of interest on the way down which were well worth it. Verificatasteveb_online2023-10-22Fantastic day out. Interesting and rewarding. A great day out and worth every penny. The weather and the volcano were kind to us (sunny, clear and many photogenic explosions of gas), but made all the more memorable, safe and interesting by our guide (Fabio) who is not only a qualified vulcanologist but a thoroughly great person. Thanks.

On each page of our excursions, you will find details with information on difficulty, distance, and other useful details. We have divided the difficulty levels into 3 categories:
Easy
Generally short routes that develop on well-beaten easy paths, with limited elevation gain and no exposed sections.
Intermediate
Paths that have a more significant elevation gain and greater development. The trails, although always well-marked, may have an uneven surface, and exposed areas begin to appear.
Expert
Very long routes in terms of kilometers, often on non-existent or rarely used trails. The elevation gain to overcome is almost always significant, and the presence of exposed sections increases.
*All our excursions are carried out in total safety and can also be enjoyed by the little ones if they are willing to walk and admire the wonders of nature.
